Books & Bells: Family Events Combine Music and Stories
Bells of the Bluffs ensemble combines storytelling and familiar songs in fun events for all ages.

RED WING, Minn., October 8, 2017 –

Enjoy family-friendly stories and seasonal tunes at two musical events presented in December by Bells of the Bluffs Handbell Ensemble. The events will combine storytelling and familiar musical selections in an hour of fun for kids of all ages.

The first event will take place December 9, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Great River Road Visitor & Learning Center in Prescott, Wisconsin. Children attending the event will be eligible for random drawings for free books related to the music and refreshments will be provided. The event is co-sponsored by Thrivent. Great River Road Visitor & Learning Center is located at Freedom Park, 200 Monroe Street, in Prescott.

On December 18, 2017, 6:30 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings, Minnesota, a stories-and-songs event will pair books with musical selections. Children will be able to explore related books available at the library and all will be invited to sing along with Bells of the Bluffs. Pleasant Hill Library is located at 1490 South Frontage Road in Hastings.

Bells of the Bluffs is devoted to igniting passion in handbells. The 14-member group, under the direction of Marilee Anderson, is a community handbell ensemble based in Red Wing, Minn. Bells of the Bluffs includes ringers from east-central and southeast Minnesota, western Wisconsin and the Twin Cities metro area.
