BoBLiTe (Bells of the Bluffs Lite) You are Invited……
Bells of the Bluffs Lite (BoBLiTe) is smaller ensemble groups that play entertaining music written for fewer bells. This may involve duets, solos, eight-bell pieces played by four ringers, bell tree performers, etc. Ringers who would like to explore this venue are invited to contact Bells of the Bluffs to identify opportunities for joining one or more small groups of ringers. Our goal will be to help all ringers from seasoned to new experience the joy of ringing in new environments.
Ideally, we would like to set up BoBLiTe ensembles in various geographical areas, depending on instrument availability. Partnering with other groups around the region can help us build a strong network of ringers, introduce new audiences to handbells and provide new experiences for current Bells of the Bluffs ringers (active members and substitutes).
Matching instruments with ringers and opportunities to play will need to be a fluid, flexible process. BoBLiTe participation won’t involve auditions, but will require commitment to one or more events, which may or may not involve audiences. Ringing together simply for the joy of ringing is one way to help ignite passion for handbells. Short-term commitments and the ability to play with different ringers will allow ringers with all levels of experience to add to their skills in a supportive, nonthreatening environment.
Some music to wet your appetite for BoBLiTe:
Old Time Religion is a solo
Barcarolle is for duet
Farandole is for sextet
Heartstrings is for bell tree
